Description
Daal Tarka is a flavourful Indian lentil dish made from yellow lentils (Toor dal or yellow moong dal) cooked until soft, then tempered with a fragrant “tarka” or tempering of hot oil, garlic. cumin seeds, mustard seeds, onions, tomatoes, and sometimes dried red chilies. The tarka adds a smoky, spicy flavour to the mild, creamy lentils.
